National Museum of Qatar: A Journey Through Qatar’s History

A testament to the history and aspirations of a nation

The 19th and 20th century saw the rise of many national museums across the world. Their museographic approach informs the way curators conduct their practice today. But how does one create a national museum that reflects the spirit of our times?

Our experience in rethinking museums of the future led us to the National Museum of Qatar. We were tasked to design, develop and implement the digital media package of the museum. The result was a total of 149 audiovisual and interactive exhibits that help form the permanent collection’s narrative. Films on historical sites and interviews along with a combination of 5,000 images enrich the story of Qatar and its people. Visitors are able to immerse themselves in the historical, social and economic development of the nation.

Our involvement in this project represents the 2nd national museum we have helped to create in the Gulf region. By previously creating a national museum in the Gulf region and our portfolio of crafting state-of-the-art media exhibitions, visitors can step into a place where the connection to the past is reinforced to inform the future.
