Crafted in Japan House by Mazda, an immersive experience to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Japanese brand’s arrival in our country conceptualized, created and produced in collaboration with Mazda Spain. The Ortega Marañón Foundation hosted this free public exhibition, which became one of the most noteworthy cultural offerings of the Madrid spring season.
Exhibition Design and Narrative
The exhibition offered a sensory journey through the eight districts of Hiroshima, Mazda’s hometown, revealing an intimate and emotional perspective of its history, identity, and values. The narrative blended cultural references (such as Sadako Sasaki’s thousand paper cranes), architectural icons (like the work of Kenzo Tange), and gastronomy (the aroma of okonomiyaki), offering a renewed look at a city that stands as a symbol of peace and resilience.
Artistic Collaborations
The design featured contributions from artist Mina Hamada and architect Ryo Abe, whose original works bridged tradition and modernity. The program also included rituals such as shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), meditation, ikebana and furoshiki workshops, as well as Japanese film screenings, creating a multisensory experience open to all audiences.
Innovation and Brand Activation
As part of the brand activation, Mazda unveiled the new Mazda6e, its first fully electric vehicle. Visitors also had access to exclusive offers throughout the exhibition period, further strengthening the emotional and commercial bond with the brand.
