The Eventoplus Awards are the benchmark for the events sector in Spain and Portugal. ACCIONA Cultura has already received 34 awards, including three “Grand Jury Awards”, the highest recognition of this event.
The Eventoplus Awards, the most prestigious contest that recognizes the best events carried out by agencies in Spain and Portugal, have awarded ACCIONA Cultura with five awards in its 2022 edition. The awards received by the company were: a Gold for ‘Desalia 15 Aniversario’ in the category of ‘Best Animation’, two Silvers for ‘Life and Work of Frida Kahlo’ in ‘Best Technical Assembly’ and ‘The Wellbeing Summit’ in ‘Best Congress’ and two Bronzes for ‘Xiaomi: The impossible Match’ in the categories of ‘Best Promotional Event’ and ‘Best Technical Assembly’.
DESALIA 15TH ANIVERSARY
Desalia by Ron Barceló is the most desired experiential event by the generation Z, millennials and young people from all over Spain. Awarded Gold for ‘Best Animation’, the event designed and produced by ACCIONA Cultura in collaboration with Ron Barceló, celebrated its 15th Anniversary this year in what has been the longest and most participated edition in its history. 1000 young people traveled to the Dominican Republic to enjoy an experience of 9 days and 7 nights of music, sun, beach, theme parties and activities in different locations on the island.
ACCIONA Cultura has been part of the organization of Desalia in the last four editions, during which it has won 23 international awards, including the Grand Jury Prize, Best Celebration Event and Best Technical Assembly at the Eventoplus Awards and Best Brand Experience and Best Promotional Marketing Action at the FIP Awards, among others.
LIFE AND WORK OF FRIDA KAHLO
Winner of the Silver Award for ‘Best Technical Assembly’, the exhibition ‘Life and Work of Frida Kahlo’, offers a new format where art is presented in an immersive way that expands the artist’s work through 360º projections on the floor and walls, a narrative script developed by curators Roxana Velásquez and Deidré Guevara and an original soundtrack composed by Arturo Cardelús, nominated for a Goya Award. Designed, produced and promoted by ACCIONA Cultura, this is a unique immersive exhibition that explores and provides a deeper understanding of the creative, pictorial and biographical universe of the famous Mexican painter. A multidisciplinary team of creatives, visual artists, illustrators, creative coders, 2D animators, 3D artists… worked to establish a relationship between content and images and translate the curatorial script into a spatial, audiovisual, sensory and exhibition experience.
Critically acclaimed, the exhibition was previously awarded the prize for ‘Best Experience Design 2022’ at the Innovation by Design Awards, given by the American publication Fast Company, and the Red Dot Design Award in the category ‘Brand and Communication Design 2022’.
THE WELLBEING SUMMIT
The first Global Wellbeing Summit for Social Change, awarded the Silver Award for ‘Best Congress’ and organized by ACCIONA Culture, was a 3-day international meeting that brought together leaders of social change, political personalities, artists and businesspeople from more than 60 countries in Bilbao last June. The summit was attended by more than 50 speakers and some 1,000 participants and included talks, round tables, and workshops. The event also featured an extensive artistic program with urban art installations throughout the city by 200 contemporary artists from around the world. A great logistical and technical challenge for an event of such dimensions that managed to transform the cultural rhythm of the city and that was successfully developed.
XIAOMI: THE IMPOSSIBLE MATCH
Awarded with two Bronze prizes for Best Promotional Event and Best Technical Assembly, the event ‘Xioami: The impossible match’ is an event designed and produced by ACCIONA Cultura, which served to present in society a milestone achieved by the brand: the Regional Sponsorship of the Davis Cup by Rakuten, one of the most prestigious and well-known sporting events. Held at the Las Ventas Greenhouse on November 18, 2021, it was the brand’s first mass event after the pandemic and allowed the 550 attendees to experience moments that seemed unthinkable at the time. For the event ACCIONA Cultura created ‘The Impossible Match’, a tennis match in which Carlos Moyá competed against a virtual and intelligent tennis court through the latest mapping technology that allowed to transform the court creating new scenarios and challenges. People from the audience were also able to face Moyá and the match ended in a big party.
EVENTOPLUS AWARDS
The Eventoplus Awards, which this year celebrated their 17th edition, are the industry benchmark, both for communication and marketing managers and for communication and events agencies. The jury is made up of professionals from the events and MICE industry (representatives of industry associations, large agencies, creative, corporate…) with a wide variety of profiles, which allows them to provide different visions, as well as guaranteeing the professionalism and continuity of the Awards.
On this occasion, 206 entries were submitted in 18 categories. Of these, only 52 made it to the final phase, where a jury made up of professionals from the business world and event agencies awarded prizes to the best entries.
