ACCIONA Cultural Engineering has carried out the design and organization of the I Innovation and Knowledge Forum ‘Andalusia, Origin and Destination’, held on March 26 at the ‘Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Sevilla Fibes II’. This is the first of the Innovation and Knowledge Forums organized by the Magallanes-Elcano Social Innovation Laboratory (LAB-ME) that will be held during the year 2021. The event is focused on the application of social innovation to improve the quality of the tourism offer by companies and destinations.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the Vice President of the Regional Government of Andalusia and Councilor for Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration, Juan Marín, the Councilor for Employment, Training and Self-Employment of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Rocío Blanco, and the Municipal Delegate for Tourism of the City of Seville, Antonio Muñoz Martinez.

The Forum was conceived as a space for reflection on the need to build smart tourist destinations, through the integration of advanced technological solutions that facilitate the interaction between tourist and destination, generating very rich territories from the point of view of the customer experience, and very sustainable from the cultural, heritage and environmental point of view. The meeting also provided an opportunity to delve into the tourism sector of smart cities, where digital capabilities aimed at the hyperconnected traveler will make the customer experience a competitive advantage from public-private innovation policies.

The initiative has included face-to-face and digital networking platforms with institutions, tourism companies and technological entrepreneurs and has had an extensive program in workshop format that has integrated working tables, technical seminars with success stories and an exhibition area with technological solutions from 14 Andalusian companies. The forum provided a networking space for sharing knowledge, research and technology as part of the Regional Council of Tourism’s commitment to improving competitiveness and the digital transformation of tourism in Andalusia.

ACCIONA Cultural Engineering was responsible for the design, development, logistics and general coordination of the event, manufacturing, production, assembly and disassembly of the scenographic and signage elements, audiovisual equipment and management.
