The “Latidos de Luz” show, designed and performed by ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño for the Seville City Council, has been awarded the Jury Grand Prix in the Premios Eventoplus that recognize the best events in Spain and Portugal.
“Latidos de Luz” is a series of multimedia shows that the city of Seville celebrated Christmas with last year.
ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño has been awarded one of the Premios Eventoplus with the Jury Grand Prix 2015 for the design and performance of the multimedia show “Latidos de Luz” (Beats of Light), three innovative audiovisuals inspired by the world of opera and designed as a tourist and cultural route to liven up the streets of the historic quarter of Seville last Christmas.
The project, developed by ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño for the Seville City Council as the main attraction of the cultural programme of Seville over the Christmas period ALUMBRA, offers a re-interpretation of some of the most famous operas related to the city coinciding with the bi-centenary of Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” and the 25th anniversary of the Maestranza Theatre and Seville’s Royal Symphony Orchestra.
The shows involve innovative audiovisuals, light, staging and interactive devices and were projected in three emblematic public areas in the city. First, Metropol Parasol was home to a 4D / 360º immersive show based on the theme of the circus. The Palace of San Telmo was then the scene of a video-mapping show featuring large-scale images. Finally, an audiovisual evoking some of the famous scenes in “The Barber of Seville” was projected on a 10-meter-square circular screen in the form of a large virtual mirror. The project also included the creation of an interactive and free-of-charge App that covered and broadcast the city’s entire Christmas cultural program.
In the award of the prize to ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño, the Jury of Eventoplus took into account the originality of a cultural engineering project that was free-of-charge and accessible to everyone, as an initiative that highlights culture through the use of state-of-the-art technologies in emblematic public areas and also represents a commitment to sustainability, as the event was carbon neutral. Therefore, the CO2 emissions produced by these events were calculated and offset by a clean energy project, achieving a net effect of zero emissions. In this case, the chosen project was the Tuppadahalli Wind Energy Project located in Karnataka (India).
The Premios Eventoplus, in their eleventh edition this year, are a reference in the sector of organizers of communications and marketing events. This time more than 200 projects were presented in 19 categories, three more than in the previous edition: “Best Fair Marketing”, “Best Public Relations Event” and “Best 360º Communication Event”. Of the 200 projects presented, only 57 reached the final, in which a jury consisting of business professionals and event organizers awarded prizes to the best projects.
The prize-giving ceremony took place last Wednesday in the Las Ventas bullring in Madrid before 800 guests.
ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño had previously won awards in the 2012 and 2013 editions of Premios Eventoplus. In 2012 it won the Gold Medal in the “Best Cultural Event” category for the Commemoration of the 8th centenary of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela (2011). In 2013 it was awarded the Silver Medal for “Best Cultural Event” for the Seville 2012 Christmas show and a Bronze Medal for the “Best Responsible Event” for the Día de la Música Festival in 2012.
